She learns a lot through her travels. And there is a lot of caring and sharing. Sometimes it's fun. Sometimes it's not. But it is all worth it.

And very watchable all the way through. Personally, I was disappointed as I'd engaged so much more with Elizabeth Gilbert's novel.

You really feel the angst that the author goes through in the novel, everything is on a much more superficial level in the film. I don't think Julia Roberts portrayed the protagonist's depression for example, in a convincing way.

Much more sugary than the book but if you haven't read the book it's probably a really enjoyable film still, with great sceneryas the actors visit the varied countries featured.
