A second, more deadly attack near the conclusion of Harry Potter and the Deathly Rosenmontag Düsseldorf resulted in over 50 deaths, including Voldemort, who died when the Killing Curse he threw at Harry rebounded on him. For some time, one of the most influential Death Eaters. Archived from the original on 10 May He was a strict one but with a warm heart.Harry Potter is a part of the life of almost every young person today. It has been adapted into movies and is loved by billions around the world.
It has been said that the publishers rejected it twelve times before it became published. The author Joanne Rowling was advised to use the name J.
Rowling to avoid giving an impression that the writer was female. Despite all this, the book became a tremendous success and her work made her one of the richest writers in the world.
There are a lot of things that this amazing book series can teach us. Below are some of the top lessons that I have drawn from the series.
Throughout the adventure Harry always had Hermione and Ron to accompany him and help him face all the challenges. For him, friendship made a huge difference.
True friends help you out in tough times. With close friends like Ron and Hermione, harry could overcome all the challenges of his life. Be it Dementors and Death Eaters, or teenage life issues like relationship problems and school exams.
Harry potter proved to us that you can overcome anything if you have true friends by your side. Belief in yourself is the key to success.
This is especially true when no one else believes in you. And no other story teaches this better than harry potter.
But just because of the belief he played better than expected and felt confident. The belief in yourself is a form of bravery itself.
It gives you the confidence you need and it helps you think positively and puts you in the success mindset.
It is scary right? I get it. But to get what you want, you need to face your fears. In our own lives too, we all are terrified to step out of our comfort zone and try something new.
But that is exactly what needs to be done to ensure maximum personal growth and to achieve our goals of good health, wealth and satisfying relationships.
This is a cliche, but it is not any less true nonetheless. Money solves your money problems, but not it is not everything. In the series, harry inherited a big vault of gold from his parents.
It is true that he had tremendous wealth and status with him, but at the cost of what? The family itself. If give a choice between his family and all the wealth he had, what do you think he would have chosen?
There you have the answer. It exists, sure. There are trains and cars and glasses and clocks. But just take the simple pen.
Inferior in every way to paper: harder to preserve and store, harder to make, and harder to write on.
Incantations are never written to be cast, so parchment only serves to record written things, not to actually cast magic.
Heaven forbid if you or anyone remotely connected to you goes to prison in the wizarding world. Dementors can suck out souls, and relish doing so.
Fully doing it kills someone, but even a passing attempt can mess someone up. Take the case of Sirius Black.
He was falsely convicted of murder spoilers, I suppose? And after he got out, Sirius was seriously unhinged for quite a while, despite being one of the good guys.
People like Bellatrix Lestrange are more typical examples of what results from being repeatedly sent to a prison that does its best to make you insane.
To many wizards and witches in the book series, death would be preferable. One dose is only enough for about an hour, as we saw in the second book in the Harry Potter series.
We saw one poor professor imprisoned for a full year, kept barely alive, so that a Death Eater could take his place.
And the worst part is, if someone has studied how to act, you would never know that you were around an impersonator. But a lot of people seem to gloss over the more disturbing implications of the Harry Potter universe.
We see the Death Eaters abuse their magical power in the most obvious ways, but often the worst parts of being a wizard are ignored or brushed off by the heroes of the story.
Remember the love potion that was accidentally slipped to Ron instead of Harry? Not only was Ron heavily in love with and fiercely jealous over Romilda Vane well after ingesting the potion, but he could barely function.
And all this was just treated as a love potion gone wrong, purely because it missed its intended target. It just seems like an awful potion that only exists to be used to abuse others.
This blog is all about Harry Potter and the infamous character Peter Pettigrew! If you are a Pottermore-head then you found the perfect blog for your passion!
Peter wanted to stay connected to the wizarding world so he could hear any news. He was afraid to break cover because he knew he was wanted by the Death Eaters, who thought he had set Voldenort up to fail.
He was at least for a time, the pet of Percy Weasley. He gave Scabbers to Ron Weasley instead, but Ron thought he was useless and spent a lot of time sleeping.
In a twist of fate, Ron was not only in the same year with Harry Potter but they became immediate friends on the train to school that year.
Ron introduced the-then sleeping rat to Harry. The rat slept nearly the entire time, and Ron said he could be dead and you wouldn't know. Ron then tried a spell on Scabbers which Fred Weasley taught him, but nothing happened.
When Ron stood up to fight Gregory Goyle , he woke Scabbers up who attacked Goyle and made him run from the compartment.
But when Ron picked him up, Scabbers already went back to sleep. In July , Scabbers was taken on holiday when Arthur won seven-hundred galleons.
The whole family appeared a newspaper, which was given to Sirius Black in Azkaban. He saw Scabbers was missing a toe and deduced it was Peter, persuading Black to finally escape Azkaban in Animagus form and go searching for Peter to kill him and protect Harry.
By the end of August, news of Black's escape had reached Peter and he began to worry Ron because he looked thinner than usual.
He thought Scabbers had fallen ill during their holiday. He took him to the Magical Menagerie and asked a worker to check Scabbers. She found it strange Ron had him for years when a rat's lifespan was three years, and asked what powers he had but he couldn't think of any.
Because Ron wanted to keep Scabbers instead of getting a new rat, he was given Rat Tonic to feed Peter. Crookshanks then lunged at Scabbers, who jumped down and scarpered.
He hid under a wastebin until Ron and Harry found him ten minutes later. They took a train compartment which had a sleeping Remus Lupin in, because he was going to teach Defence Against the Dark Arts.
Harry told Ron and Hermione about Black wanting to supposedly kill him, and Peter could have been the cause of a sneakoscope springing to life.
Hermione soon let Crookshanks out of a basket, and he headed straight for Ron's pocket to get Scabbers. Ron knocked him back and he gave up, but he sat in a seat and watched Ron's top pocket.
Wormtail was the one who found Voldemort, and who brought Bertha Jorkins to him. Although finding Bertha was extremely useful to Voldemort, at the time Wormtail was unaware of how useful she would be.
Voldemort tells Wormtail that he needs the assistance of someone with brains, and whose loyalty has never wavered, neither of which is true of him.
He is frightened about the idea of revealing Voldemort to Frank, but obeys and turns his chair to face Frank. He watches as Voldemort confronts the Muggle, ultimately killing him.

Universal Conquest Wiki. Hogwarts , Marauder's Map. A fat little boy, he hero-worshipped the pair, but was never in their league, talent-wise.
Pettigrew was hopeless at duelling at school. On the day he died, Muggle eye-witnesses said that Pettigrew cornered Black, sobbing and asking Black how he could have betrayed the Potters.
Witnesses say he then went for his wand but Black was too quick and blew him to smithereens. Lupin tells the trio that Pettigrew was one of his three closest friends at Hogwarts.
Alongside James Potter and Sirius Black, Pettigrew worked to become an Animagus when he was a student, so that the friends could accompany Lupin during his transformations.
Pettigrew's nickname was Wormtail. Pettigrew is a very short man, with thin, colourless hair and a large bald patch.
He lived in hiding in Animagus form for nearly thirteen years, by being the pet rat of the Weasley family.
He was eventually caught, but he escaped and found Voldemort again, helping him gain power again in the Second Wizarding War.
He later had the chance to kill Harry, but he was strangled and killed by a silver hand gifted to him by Voldemort when he couldn't do it.
Peter began attending Hogwarts School in September and was put into Gryffindor. But he was never in their league talent-wise, and he idolised James and Sirius.
He was further thought to be hopeless at duelling by Professor McGonagall. In their second-year , he and Potter and Black found out Lupin was a werewolf.
They wanted to keep Lupin company in the Shrieking Shack , but he would attack if they were human. They trained for three years to be Animagus , and Peter was soon able to turn into a rat.
They began going to the Shrieking Shack whenever Lupin had to, and their company helped lessen Lupin's pain.
Being so tiny, Peter could slip pass the Whomping Willow's branches to tap the knot that paralysed it. They were soon wandering round the grounds and village when they gained confidence in controlling Lupin.
They nearly lost Lupin a few times but were foolishly young and found it funny. They had spent their education pranking and bullying people, broke school rules and found secret passageways.
Peter's group were very unkind to a student they bullied, Severus Snape. Peter and Lupin stood by and encouraged Potter and Black whenever they taunted Snape, who was very bitter towards their group.
Peter and Lupin got into less trouble than Potter and Black, but were caught a few times too and had to go to detention.
But Peter thought that nothing could be gained by opposing Voldemort and joined the Death Eaters in secret. He was a very low-ranking Death Eater for cowardice and lack of proving useful, but he was able to be a spy and he began telling the Death Eaters their secrets.
Peter's cowardly nature ensured that he was never suspected of being a spy, even when the Order gained awareness that they had a spy in their ranks.
Black suspected Lupin, but never Peter. For at least a year, Peter passed the Order's secrets. But soon, he faced a new issue when a prophecy caused Voldemort to target the Potters because he was fated to be defeated by Harry.
They first thought of choosing Black to be their Secret Keeper , but Black persuaded the Potters to switch to Peter, because he thought Peter would be less suspected and safer.
Unlike most werewolves, Greyback thirsts for blood even in his human form. Although Greyback does not transmit his lycanthropy because he was in human form at the time, Bill is subsequently shown to display a preference for very rare meat.
When Harry accidentally uses Voldemort's name after it has been made taboo, Greyback is alerted and his gang attacks their camp.
Bellatrix Lestrange promises Hermione to Greyback in return for his services, but the prisoners fight their way out and escape, Greyback being hit by a triple Stunning Spell.
Greyback is the main werewolf within the pack that agrees to aid Voldemort in the Battle of Hogwarts. During the battle, Hermione, using a blasting curse, prevents Greyback from attacking injured Lavender Brown , and a crystal ball thrown by Professor Trelawney stuns him.
He rejoins the battle in time for the Death Eaters' last stand, when Ron Weasley and Neville Longbottom combine forces to take him down by magic.
He reprised the role in both parts of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. As Headmaster, Karkaroff is also one of the judges.
He is described as a neat, fussy-looking man with an oily voice and manner who sports a small grey goatee. While unctuously pleasant most of the time, he is capable of violent rage.
He is also described as "a man with yellowish teeth whose smile does not reach his cold stare". Karkaroff is angered and threatens to withdraw from the tournament when Harry is selected as a fourth champion and second representative for Hogwarts.
Sirius Black later identifies Karkaroff as a former Death Eater. Karkaroff later told the Ministry of Magic that he had seen the error of his ways, and "named names", putting many people in Azkaban in exchange for his freedom.
Karkaroff's history gives him a connection with Snape , also a former Death Eater. Karkaroff interrupts a Potions lesson demanding to talk to Snape, and shows him his Dark Mark reappearing.
He also apparently has an unpleasant history with Alastor Moody, and tries to avoid him unsuccessfully for the entirety of the tournament, not knowing that it is Barty Crouch Jr.
Lupin also expresses surprise that Karkaroff managed to live even a year after deserting Voldemort and that no one else has been known to avoid capture quite as long.
Predrag Bjelac appeared as Karkaroff in the film adaptation of Goblet of Fire. She is the most faithful member of Voldemort's inner circle. Bellatrix is portrayed as paranoid, insane, and fanatically devoted to Voldemort, seeing service to him as the noblest duty for any true wizard or witch.
Bellatrix takes an obvious pleasure in acts of torture and cruelty, as demonstrated when she kills her cousin, Sirius Black. She is a witch of prodigious ability, as demonstrated by her many victories in duels against other characters, and as noted by Harry in the final book.
Draco Malfoy is the pure blooded son of Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy. He was a notorious bully to Harry Potter and his friends because Hermione has Muggle parents, Draco was also assigned to kill Dumbledore, but his heart told him otherwise and Snape had to do it for him.
Draco, like his family, is part of Slytherin house. Lucius was a school governor of Hogwarts before being sacked, and has very close connections at the Ministry of Magic.
To maintain his reputation and influence, he makes donations to the Ministry, to charity, and to St Mungo's Hospital. He was educated at Hogwarts, where he was a prefect in Slytherin House.
Lucius knows the diary is cleverly enchanted, but is not aware that it is a horcrux containing a part of Voldemort's soul.
He is careless with it and punished by Voldemort himself. Lucius intends to use the opening of the Chamber of Secrets by Ginny to discredit her father, Arthur Weasley , and Dumbledore.
Lucius' plans are ultimately thwarted with the help of the Malfoys' house-elf Dobby, and Harry, but not before the Chamber is opened and Lucius uses the ensuing terror and threats to attack their families to influence the school's Board of Governors to discredit and dismiss Dumbledore as Headmaster.
Subsequently, Harry tricks Lucius into setting Dobby free. Upon this, Lucius attempts to attack Harry with his wand but Dobby disarms him before he can do any harm.
Lucius is ultimately stripped of his title as a Hogwarts school governor. Despite his sacking, he still maintains strong ties with the Ministry of Magic.
Later in that book, when Voldemort rises again and summons his Death Eaters, Malfoy rejoins him and asserts that he had done everything he could to help his master, who however remains unimpressed.
Harry reports Malfoy's declarations to Minister Fudge, who refuses to believe him. Thus, the wealthy Malfoy continues to maintain strong ties with the Ministry.
Lucius tries several ways to get the prophecy from Harry without breaking it, but the boy and his friends manage to escape from the Hall. Malfoy finally meets him in the Death Chamber, where Harry is about to give it to Malfoy when the Order of the Phoenix breaks into the Ministry and begins to duel with the Death Eaters.
Dumbledore himself arrives at the end of the battle and Malfoy is captured and sent to Azkaban. By the final book, Voldemort has given Malfoy his freedom, though he looks significantly the worse for wear, having lost Voldemort's favour.
Voldemort treats him with great contempt by hijacking his house for Headquarters, and is forcing his son to do dark deeds against his nature, sparking sympathy for the notorious family for the first time in the series.
Voldemort borrows Lucius' wand which is accidentally destroyed by Harry Potter. Later in the book, Lucius, along with his wife and sister-in-law, accidentally allow Harry and his friends to escape from Malfoy Manor.
Voldemort punishes them severely, eventually putting them under house arrest. Despite his long-standing position as a Death Eater and Voldemort's advocate of pure-blood supremacy, Lucius decides his love for his family is more important than his involvement in the war.
During the Battle of Hogwarts, he pleads with Voldemort to let him onto the battlefield to locate his son.
He and the rest of his family are reunited at the end of the book. Following Voldemort's death, Lucius, Narcissa, and Draco all manage to " weasel their way out " of being sent to Azkaban due to Narcissa's aiding Harry in the Forbidden Forest.
Lucius's ultimate fate after Deathly Hallows is unknown, but actor Jason Isaacs stated in an interview with Syfy Wire that he believes Lucius would not feel like a member of wizarding society again after Voldemort's fall, as society would shun him.
Isaacs also states that Lucius would become a shell of his former self, lose the respect of his wife and son, protect himself with his money, and drink himself into an early death.
According to Forbes magazine, in , Lucius Malfoy was number 12 on their Forbes Fictional 15 list. In the film series, Lucius is portrayed by Jason Isaacs as an adult.
Scenes with Tony Coburn as a teenage Lucius were cut from the final movie. There, he was a close friend of Sirius Black , James Potter , and Remus Lupin , although he was the least intelligent and least talented of the group.
With Sirius and James' help, Pettigrew becomes an Animagus , with the ability to transform at will into a rat.
After leaving Hogwarts, Pettigrew joins forces with Voldemort, and in exchange for his own life becomes Voldemort's spy within the Order of the Phoenix, of which Pettigrew is a member.
When the Potters know that their son, Harry, is Voldemort's target, Sirius suggests to them to use Pettigrew as Secret-Keeper because he does not believe Voldemort would ever suspect a "weak, talentless thing" like Pettigrew.
Pettigrew betrays the secret to Voldemort, an act that leads to James and Lily's death and ironically, Voldemort's near-destruction. Sirius seeks revenge on Pettigrew, but during the confrontation, Pettigrew publicly accuses Sirius of the Potters' deaths, murders twelve Muggles, and cuts off his own index finger before transforming into a rat, thereby framing Sirius for the betrayal of the Potters, as well as for his own murder and that of the bystanders.
Pettigrew is seemingly posthumously awarded the Order of Merlin, and hides during the next twelve years. Wanting to keep an eye on the wizarding world, he masquerades as a rat, first as Percy Weasley 's pet, and then as Ron Weasley 's.
In this form named "Scabbers" by the family , he is missing a toe from one paw due to the finger he cut off. Although Pettigrew appears in the first two books in the form of Scabbers, his identity is not revealed until Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban , in which he is the main antagonist.
When a photograph of the Weasley family appears in the Daily Prophet newspaper, Sirius recognises Pettigrew's Animagus form and escapes from Azkaban to track him down.
The two confront each other in the Shrieking Shack , where Lupin and Black compel Scabbers to resume his human form.
Pettigrew confesses his treachery, claiming to have committed it only to save his own life. With Sirius and Lupin about to take their revenge, Harry begs Sirius to turn Pettigrew over to the Ministry of Magic instead, to prove Sirius' innocence.
Pettigrew escapes while being led out of the Shack when Lupin transforms into a werewolf. Harry's actions result in Pettigrew owing him a life debt.
Pettigrew returns to the service of Voldemort, seeking him out in the forests of Albania and helping him to return to a feeble baby's body.
He abducts a Ministry of Magic employee named Bertha Jorkins , who is able to provide Voldemort with valuable information.
Pettigrew almost always referred to as "Wormtail" hereafter assists Barty Crouch Jr. In the climactic confrontation in that book, Wormtail murders Cedric Diggory on Voldemort's orders, and brews the complex potion to regenerate Voldemort, severing his hand as one of the ingredients.
Upon his return to corporeal form, Voldemort replaces Wormtail's missing hand with a silver one that possesses five intact fingers and great strength.
Despite his actions, Wormtail's fortunes remain low; in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Snape treats him as a servant, and in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows he is tasked with keeping watch over prisoners in the cellar of Malfoy Manor.
While Harry and Ron are being kept there, Wormtail checks on the prisoners and is attacked. Wormtail begins strangling Harry with the silver hand, but when reminded by Harry that he once saved his life, Wormtail hesitates for a moment.
The silver hand turns against him and strangles him to death as punishment for his moment of pity.
Pettigrew is portrayed by Timothy Spall as an adult, and by Charles Hughes as a teenager in the films. In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 1 , Pettigrew is not strangled to death by his own silver hand in Malfoy Manor as in the book; he is instead struck by Dobby and collapses.
It is unknown whether he was simply stunned or killed. Severus Snape is characterised as a person of considerable complexity, whose coldly sarcastic and controlled exterior conceals deep emotions and anguish.
In the first novel of the series, Snape is a teacher who is hostile from the start toward Harry and is built up to be the primary antagonist until the final chapters.
As the series progresses, Snape's portrayal evolves from that of a malicious and partisan teacher to that of a complex, pivotal character of moral ambiguity, whose true loyalties are not revealed until the end.
Corban [20] Yaxley is the brutal-faced Death Eater who is present in the battle in which Snape killed Dumbledore. In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows , Yaxley is invited to Malfoy Manor to witness the murder of Charity Burbage , and argues with Snape about the correct date of Harry's departure from the Dursleys', but John Dawlish , an Auror who is tricked by an Order member, gives him incorrect information.
He uses Thicknesse to Imperius the other major department heads and they allow Voldemort to murder Rufus Scrimgeour ; thus Thicknesse becomes Minister for Magic.
He also assists Dolores Umbridge in leading the Muggle-Born Registration Commission, and the two seem to have a good relationship, together humiliating the Muggle-borns.
Both are immobilised by Harry, but Yaxley recovers and grabs Hermione while she is Apparating her friends to safety.
Yaxley arrives with them at Grimmauld Place, allowing him to reveal their headquarters to the Death Eaters, but not to the location that the trio subsequently Apparate to.
He participates in the Battle of Hogwarts, where he duels with Professor Flitwick and is later seen among those who wait with Voldemort for Harry Potter to come to him, mistakenly believing that Harry would not come within the allotted time.
When the battle resumes, he is defeated by George Weasley and Lee Jordan. Peter Mullan plays Yaxley in the film adaptation of Deathly Hallows.
It was later rerecorded in as bonus track for their debut LP Nothing But Glory , and a music video for the song was released in with a live recording of it.

Wormtail is curious about how long they will be staying in the Riddle House, and doesn't understand why they must wait to implement their plan until the Quidditch World Cup is over.
He seems nervous of Voldemort's plan; before he loses his nerve, he questions whether it can be done without Harry Potter. He is quick to deny that he has any concern for Harry, but thinks that their plan could be enforced more quickly if they were able to use any other witch or wizard.
Wormtail tells Voldemort that, if he were allowed to leave for a short while, he could return in as little as two days with a suitable person.
He denies that he wants to leave Voldemort, but is not believed: Voldemort says that he can always tell when Wormtail is lying, and knows that he revolts the man.
Wormtail carries Voldemort through the graveyard towards Harry and Cedric. He ties Harry from neck to ankles to the headstone, hitting the boy when he struggles.
His fingers tremble as he checks Harry bonds, then leaves to fetch a large stone cauldron, which he drags to the foot of the grave.
Wormtail lights a fire at the bottom of the cauldron, and begins to prepare a potion for the Dark Lord. He lowers Voldemort into the cauldron, then speaks to the night, ' Bone of the father, unknowingly given, you will renew your son!
The ground by the grave cracks and a fine trickle of dust rises at Wormtail's command, falling into the cauldron. He whimpers as he draws a dagger from inside his robes, his voice breaking as he recites ' Flesh of the servant, willingly given, you will revive your master.
Wormtail gasps and moans with agony after his actions, then stands before Harry to collect the ' Blood of the enemy ' cutting the crook of Harry's right arm and collecting the blood in a glass phial.
He staggers back to the cauldron and pours the blood inside, and drops to his knees once his job is done, cradling the bleeding stump of his arm.
Wormtail helps to robe the newly risen Lord Voldemort after his master emerges from the cauldron. Wormtail approaches Harry and raises his new silver hand, releasing Harry from the bonds tying him to the gravestone.
He walks out of the circle to the place where Cedric's body lies and picks up Harry's wand, returning it to the boy. He then resumes his place in the circle of Death Eaters.
After the successful switch, Wormtail moved into the Crouch home with Voldemort, enabling him to watch over the Imperiused Mr Crouch and to care for his master at the same time.
He was not watchful enough of Mr Crouch, which allowed Mr Crouch to successfully escape from the house.
